Storm D. Floyd, ABOC

Certified Optician, Co-Owner

Storm Floyd, Co-Owner of Amazing Eyes Optical Boutique, brings a wealth of experience and passion to the eye care industry. Growing up in Arkansas and Texas, Storm’s journey eventually led him to Fort Worth, Texas, where he met his wife, Lisa, in 1994. Their daughter, Liz, was born in 1998, prompting the family to relocate to Lisa’s hometown of Fairhope, Alabama. The move was inspired by a desire to raise Liz in a close-knit community near her grandparents.

Storm’s entry into the eye care industry is a unique story. While working as a manager at Godiva Chocolatier in Fort Worth, he impressed a Regional Manager from LensCrafters with his exceptional sales skills, convincing him to purchase over $600 worth of chocolate. This encounter led to an offer for Storm to join LensCrafters, where he received personal training from the manager who recognized his talent.

For the past 4 years, he has served as President of the Mississippi Association of Dispensing Opticians. Now he is a current Board Member of the Mississippi Association of Dispensing Opticians. He is also a Transitions Certified Specialist and past Transitions Change Agent. His favorite aspect of the job is the ability to provide the gift of sight, a joy he first discovered when dispensing a pair of eyeglasses to a young child. The child’s magical smile confirmed to Storm that he was in the right profession.

Outside of work, Storm values his family deeply. He and Lisa have been married for over 28 years, and their daughter Liz is a constant source of pride. Storm’s interests include attending Broadway productions, traveling, going to concerts, and enjoying day trips to the casinos in Biloxi. He cherishes life talks with his mother-in-law and weekend breakfasts with his daughter.

Despite facing significant medical challenges, including a diagnosis of Myasthenia Gravis and surviving a massive heart attack, Storm maintains a positive outlook on life. His faith in God and gratitude for his blessings have helped him through tough times. Known for being a man of few words but always ready to listen, Storm’s resilience and unwavering support for his loved ones are among his greatest achievements.
